Kadai Veedhi, is the most happening place in the small town of Rasipuram. The road is actually a market place peppered with a lot of closely built kirana stores, banks and jewelry shops. I have fond memories of jumping the walls of the SRV boys hostel to come to the veedhi - twelve years ago - when I used to stay in Rasipuram for entrance coaching. Interestingly, my wife's bank is also in the veedhi. The security almost thought I was some sort of a creep, when I was clicking few zoomed-in candid pictures of her - standing outside the bank. She was surprised to see me there, rushed out, we shared some laughter together before I went on alone to interact with the locals - clicking pictures. People thought I was from the press, some started complaining about how bad the roads are and that I should report on this, some recalled stories from the past of how Rasipuram was a much greener place when there were very less vehicles. One good thing about talking to people from small towns is that they all speak from their heart, with no element of guile.
